Gail is a licensed clinical social worker who has been providing direct clinical mental health services to children, adolescents and their families within more restrictive residential settings since 1982.

Gail received her undergraduate degree from the University of Vermont in 1982 where she majored in psychology and studio art. She later earned her Master’s Degree of Science in Human Development and Family Studies at Pennsylvania State University. In 1994, Gail received her MSW degree from UNC-Chapel Hill School of Social Work. She was also awarded the NC Society for Clinical Social Work Student Award in 1994.

Gail has risen through the ranks of mental health services serving in clinical, supervisory, programming and/or executive capacities in private nonprofit residential programs in MA, NY and NC. Gail has had success providing individual, group and family therapy; psycho-educational services; direct care and foster care staff training and supervision; client self-management; independent living; and in collaborating with local and state agencies and schools. Most recently Gail was Executive Director for Concern of Durham, Inc. which provides a range of residential and transitional services to at risk adolescents with mental health needs.

Gail has been trained in the “William Bridges Transition Framework” which seeks to reorient people to the internal processes experienced in coming to terms with a change and incorporating the framework into the developmental transition needs of adolescents entering adulthood.
